Austin Kearns is the newest player of New York Yankees. The Yankees acquire him for a total of $270,000 between now and the end of the season. Afterwards Austin Kearns will become a free agent and will be open for negotiations.

Austin Kearns was acquired by the Yankees because they need his right-handed bat. The 30-year-old professional baseball player is hitting .268/.351/.413 this season and has a .799 OPS against lefties in his career.

The acquisition of the Yankees of Austin Kearns from the Cleveland Indians was in exchange for a player to be named by Cleveland or cash. Expect to see Austin Kearns in the next games of the New York Yankees.
