An official announcement from American Idol Winner Carrie Underwood’s spokesperson confirmed brewing rumors of an engagement. The engagement was said to have taken place last monday surrounded by friends and family in Canda. And early Monday, gossip blogs started to make rounds about the topic.

“I’m happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn’t be happier.” The spokesperson said.

The successful singer got engaged to Mike Fisher, a hockey player who plays for the Ottawa Senators. Fisher is twenty-nine years old while Underwood is twenty-seven. No wedding date has been disclosed yet.
