David Robert Joseph Beckham is his full name. An soccer player from England who plays for LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer. More than any soccer player, David Beckham is said to be the most famous that even a non-soccer fan knows him.

Aside from being a great soccer player, David Beckham is also a ambassador for UNICEF and it has been his greatest legacy. He has been part of the UNICEF since his days at Manchester United in January 2005, He became a Goodwill Ambassador with a special focus on UNICEF’s Sports for Development program. More recently Beckham has pledged his support for the current Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS campaign.

Now that their team LA Galaxy is in the Philippines for their Asian tour, Beckham really took time to visit former Filipino street kids in a UNICEF-supported children’s shelter in Manila. His sincere gladness with the kids is priceless. “He’s more than just a soccer player,” says Chris Bech, an expat in the Philippines who is an avid Beckham fan. “His heart for the less fortunate is truly amazing,” Chris Bech added.

The LA Galaxy had a friendly match with the Philippine Azkals that ended with 6-1 score. Still they showed everyone that they deserve the title of being the MLS champ.

NBA fanatics all over the world are definitely not happy with what’s happening now. The league and the players weren’t able to come up with a decent collective bargaining agreement thus the regular season couldn’t kick off this coming November 1st. Opening games including those between Dallas Mavericks and Chicago Bulls as well as the one between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the L.A. Lakers wouldn’t be pushed through.

For those who were able to purchase tickets for the opening games, the league said that there will refunds including interests for all NBA season-ticket holders for all pre-season and regular-season games that were canceled. Better start coordinating with your ticket broker now to know the details on how you’re getting your refund and for more information as well.

Devastating to think but this is really happening. The league owners just can’t agree with the terms that the players are asking and in return the players are much willing to give up the opening games to air out their sentiments and to prove that they’re firm in their decisions. “This is not just about dollars and cents for players. It’s about a system for our guys to operate under,” said Derek Fisher of Lakers, the president of the NBPA.

“Unfortunately maybe we need to miss a few games for them to know there’s resolve among the players,” said NBPA executive director Billy Hunter. It’s like having a transport strike in the world of basketball and if this will not be resolved the soonest time, there is a possibility that NBA 11-12 season will not push through. Let’s just hope for the best.

Wise men in the industry are looking forward to the upcoming boxing match between Pacquiao vs. Marquez for two reasons. One, they are rooting for their country’s representative to win, and they are rooting for the advertisements that they place to double or even triple its worth.

Boxing fans and even other ordinary viewers have easily noticed the trend when it comes to boxing matches these days. It seems that every boxer, especially those who are title holders of several and various categories is commoditized to become advertisements in themselves. Notice how Manny Pacquiao struts his boxing short filled with advertisements both locally and internationally? And yes, he gets paid for that.

If in the past, commercials and ad placements can only be seen on television or in the newspapers, nowadays, they can also be seen when there are boxing matches. Some of the most famous brands and Pacquiao’s sponsors’ are taking advantage of promoting their products and services during his every fight.

And who is Pacquiao to complain? Other than receiving hefty sums of money (and in dollars most of the time) he even gets more for these sponsors and promoters. In fact, after his every game, his boxing shorts immediately become a collector’s item that is also valued at a huge amount of money that his fans can purchase.

So for his up and coming fight with Juan Manuel Marquez, Manny Pacquiao’s fans and other critics are looking forward to watching not only his heavy and blow by blow punches but also the old and new advertisements he will be strutting while on the ring. And they have also become curious now more than ever on how much these advertisements and sponsors will cost with that short exposure time.

Las Vegas, Nevada will soon be invaded by a lot of people from the different parts of USA and other countries just to witness the boxing fight of the year. Manny Pacquiao, the pound for pound king, will face the former WBA Welterweight Super Champion Sugar Shane Mosley. Both are having high percentage in their knock out capabilities and both are having great speed and power. Having them both inside the boxing ring would be truly make a great match. Pacquiao vs Mosley live stream is very much needed this weekend if that’s the case. That would be apply for those who can’t make it live to MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Manny Pacquiao had his professional debut more than a decade ago and was only defeated thrice. Most of his wins are by way of knockout so as with Mosley. Both are acknowledging each other’s skills and capabilities and no trash talks at all. This is just an indication of an exciting and decent fight. Mosley once said that he would be badly defeated by Pacquiao in this fight, this might be his last.

Bets are already laid and most of it are favoring Pacquiao to win. Mosley already admitted that he’s the underdog but he isn’t going to let this situation decide for the game. Who knows, the underdog might have that deadly bite and win the game. Together let’s find out.

Shaquille O’Neal is retiring from the NBA, as he himself announced via his Twitter account last Wednesday, June 1, 2011. After 19 professional basketball seasons, 15 All-Star appearances, eight All-NBA First Team honors, four championship rings and an MVP award, Shaq has called it quits.

“We did it. Nineteen years baby. I want to thank you very much, that’s why I’m telling you first, I’m about to retire. Love you, talk to you soon.” Shaquille said on the video below.

Shaquille O’Neal decided to leave the NBA with a nagging Achilles tendon injury. He missed more than half of the regular season with the Boston Celtics and played only two games in the post-season which saw the Miami Heat oust the defending NBA Eastern Conference Champions to play against Dallas Mavericks in the NBA finals.

Shaquille O’Neal was first seen playing for Orlando Magic where he won as Rookie of the Year Award in 2003. He also played for LA Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics. He won the MVP award in 2000 and has a record of 28,596 points and 13,099 rebounds.

Shaq will be definitely missed in the court. Below is his video which he posted in his twitter account announcing his retirement from NBA:

Super Bowl XLV has been the talk of the town lately as the event gets nearer. The Arlington, Texas is more than ready to welcome the fans of the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers as their team will face each other this coming February 6, 2011. Sports site owners are already posting their Super Bowl 2011 live stream updates. Fox is also covering the event live so there is no reason that you can’t watch it.

Meanwhile, it has been known to all that football is truly an injury-harboring sport. There isn’t any football game without a serious injury. It is really inevitable and sometimes, these injuries could prevent you to play on your next game. After the NFC championship game last weekend, Packers’ coach Mike McCarthy brought up that that QB Aaron Rodgers had a sore back which he obtained from Bears defensive back Danieal Manning during his 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter of the game.

It was later on denied by Rodgers and guaranteed the Packers fans that he is 100% fit to win. “Contrary to any reports out there, I didn’t suffer a concussion and I don’t know what Mike was talking about as far as my shoulder,” Rodgers said. “I’m good to go, 100 percent.”

The recently concluded NFC championship which took place last weekend is more than just a display of super football skills but also of serious injuries. It was just unfortunate for the quarterback of Chicago Bears to obtain such serious injury that’s why he wasn’t able to finish the game. He just stayed on the bench and watched his team being defeated. Because of such thing that happened, he obtained a lot of negative criticisms over twitter from former players and from the commentators.

He was then defended by his coach Lovie Smith and GM Jerry Angelo. Coach Smith said, “Our quarterback’s a tough guy. … It’s pretty simple what happened yesterday. Before the half, Jay hurt his knee. He showed a lot of toughness to continue to play with it. Expect to see him when you watch Super Bowl 2011 online.”

Angelo also stressed out that those people criticizing their QB is just forming a union. “Our quarterback’s a tough guy. … It’s pretty simple what happened yesterday. Before the half, Jay hurt his knee. He showed a lot of toughness to continue to play with it,” he added.

the thing that happened to Cutler is really depressing. Their team was also defeated by the Green Bay Packers for the prestigious Super Bowl XLV. The event will happen this coming February 6, 2011 at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texa. Super Bowl 2011 live stream would be made available to those who cant make it there live. Aside from the expected great play, the fans of Black Eyed Peas would also add up to the number of people in the stadium as they entertain them in the halftime break.
