FIBA World Championship 2010: USA vs Russia Highlights – It was one of the toughest battle of the United States so far and before the game most analysts are saying that the Russians have the advantage. Team USA maximized this opportunity and snatch a slot at the FIBA World Championship 2010 with an 89-79 win against Russia. It was Kevin Duran’t basketball rampage that propelled the USA to the semifinals. Durant scored 33 points during the game plus Team USA greatly improved on their defense. Team USA that night came on 11-19 shooting from the field and 8-of-9 free throw accuracy, tied for the third most all-time by a USA player in World Championship action.
The USA is still undefeated at the FIBA World Championship 2010, 7-0. They will face another undefeated team in their semifinals game on Saturday (7:00 p.m. local time) in a medal semifinals match with Lithuania. Lithuania is also at 7-0 as they defeated Argentina easily, 104-85 in Thursday’s other quarterfinals contest.
The effort of Team USA was also boosted by 15 points and five assists was Chauncey Billups (Denver Nuggets), Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder) added 12 points and three steals, while Lamar Odom (Los Angeles Lakers) worked the inside and recorded 12 rebounds and two steals to go with six points.
Russia though they are missing Kirilenko got good contributions though from Sergey Bykov, Andrei Borontsevich and the New York Knicks’ Timofrey Mozgov.
