Hongkong Issues Travel Warning Against the Philippines After Manila Bus Hostage Taking – The regional government of Hong Kong have issued its highest level of travel warnings after the Philippine government failed to resolve peacefully a hostage crisis yesterday.

Hong Kong urged its residents to avoid travelling to the Philippines and to cut short of cancel planned trips to the Philippines.

“Those already there should attend to their personal safety and stay alert,” the advisory read. Tour groups were urged to return “as soon as possible,” while other groups scheduled to visit were urged to cancel their trips.

The Manila Bus Hostage Taking and hijacking incident ended last night in a bloodbath after an 11-hour standoff. The result, eight people were killed eight, one passenger was critically wounded and six others hospitalized with less serious injuries.
