Iran Ready for War; Iran Unmanned Bomber Inaugurated – As if to show their military might, Iran had unveiled and officially inaugurated their first unmanned bomber. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad even said that the bomber is an “ambassador of death” to Iran’s enemies.
The unmanned bomber was inaugurated Sunday and was highly televised on Iranian TV and even beamed to satellites around the world. The bomber is said to travel at speeds of 560 miles per hour (900 kilometers) and could alternatively be armed with two 250-pound bombs or a 450-pound guided bomb.
The aircraft is about 4 meters long and can carry up to four cruise missiles and will have a range of 620 miles (1,000 kilometers), according to a state TV report.
Sunday, August 22 is the National Day for Iran’s Defense Industries and the inauguration of the bomber had been coincided with the celebration. President Ahmadinejad has only strong words for the perceived enemies of Iran.
“The jet, as well as being an ambassador of death for the enemies of humanity, has a main message of peace and friendship,” said Ahmadinejad.
Also, during the same day Iran tested a new liquid fuel surface-to-surface missile, the Qiam-1, with advanced guidance systems. To receive updates from WWNN.co.uk directly to your e-mail, you can subscribe to us for free by entering your e-mail address here and confirming your subscription by clicking the link that will be sent to your e-mail address.
