It will be an exciting match at US Open Tennis 2009 because American tennis teen sensation Melanie Oudin will be having a match with the world’s popular tennis player Maria Sharapova, on a third round match at the Arthur Ashe Stadium today at exactly 1:00 pm ET.

The two tennis ladies never played one another so no match up history to consider. Everyone I guess will be excited to watch who will win between the two tennis ladies. Oudin, young at 17 years old and currently ranked 70th in the world has seen the potential of becoming a key player in American tennis in the future based on her results on other matches at her young age. In fact she had an upset win over the top 10 players including Jelena Jankovic and Wimbledon.

Meanwhile, prior to the US Open 2009, Maria Sharapova has played with Elena Dementieva, ranked 4th in the world,  at the Roger’s Cup final in Toronto and eventually won by Dementieva in a straight sets. But Oudin came up with a victorious upset over Demetieva in their previous match.

Oudin continually gaining her cheers from the crowd. She’s the greatest thing to hit women’s tennis since Chris Evert,” said Tory Dodge of Bermuda. “If she could ever beat Maria, we’ll have to board a plane.” Once again, the American tennis fans have something to cheer about. “Oudin’s performance is great for the 2009 US Open and even better for the game,” added Dodge.

Watch out who will win in this exciting match as we will give updates for the US Open 2009 results in just a few moments.

The result really surprised me, so not the tradition of US Open Tennis week 1. many top seeds are knocked out and the competition are so fierce. It’s really historic.
