The 25 year old German golfer Martin Kaymer just became the PGA champion this year. A sweet victory as it is. He just become the second German to bag a major win after Bernhard Langer.

“It’s very important for Germany. He’s got a great head on his shoulders. He’s still very young, but he is much more mature than his age. He’s got good looks, a great temperament and it would be wonderful for not only if he were to win this major but also to get in the Ryder Cup,” said Langer.

Their country isn’t that much attached to golf. For them, it is only a form of recreation and not much of a sport. That’s why Kaymer’s achievement is such a great news. Aside from this, he just become the youngest to win a major just like when Tiger Woods did in 2001.

He just made it through at the Whistling Straits by shooting a 2-under-par 70 at Whistling Straits that included a clutch 15-foot par putt on the final hole that put him in a three-hole aggregate playoff against Bubba Watson. Dustin Johnson could have been joining them but he just got a 2-stroke penalty assessed on the final hole.

Kaymer then embraced his loving wife after winning. Congratulations Kaymer!
