NBA Free Agency Updates: Shaquille O'Neal Joins Boston Celtics  | read this item

Shaquille Joins the Boston Celtics – You head that right, the strong man and former big man of the Los Angeles Lakers had officially signed to play for the Boston Celtics.

Observers and NBA experts said though that it seems that choice of the Boston Celtics to signs Shaq might be a big mistake on their part. They say that the Shaq we see today is just a shadow of what he is back in LA when he plays with Kobe Bryant.

For Shquille O’Neal this new team is another shot at chasing for prominence and a possible glory. He was playing together with Wade and LeBron after Kobe but it seems that did not work out and now he wants to get a shot with Boston Celtics.

Boston Celtics seems to be in need of a legitimate center and they have no other option than to get Shaq. Kendrick Perkins who suffered an injury during the 2010 NBA finals will be out until at least January 2011. Boston has just signed Jermaine O’Neal to their team but it seems his performance during the NBA 2009-2010 season might be carried forward so they need at least someone to be there just in case.

Besides Jermaine and Perkins reasons to sign Shaq, the pre-season for the Boston Celtics had been a big change as well. Raseed Wallace continues to be a trade bait while Sheldan Williams had not re-signed with the Celtics.

Shaquille O’Neal is someone that the Boston Celtics hopes they can count on and surely fans of the Celtics hopes that as well.
