The audience count on the head reached more than 36,500 people.  Japan players and fans broke out in tears and frustration as they lost by merely a fraction.  It was the missed penalty shot of Komano that made the chance for Paraguay.  Komano smashes it against the crossbar. Struck it well but the ball took off.

It’s just another game at the  Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Pretoria, Japan and Paraguay engaged in a very tense match and it seems no one wants to give in. Japan is very confident to win the match as they are now representing the whole Asian continent but that alone was not able to make them win in the end.  Even if they do lost, this match will be remembered.

Let us take a look back at what happened during the match through the Paraguay vs Japan Live Blogging I made during the duration of the game:

119 minutes had passed and Japan and Paraguay are still 0-0. Now we will be going for a penalty shootout. This had been a really interesting game. Winner will be known in a few minutes.

This seems to be the longest game in the World Cup 2010 Round of 16 and it is really a tense and very heart stopping situation here at the stadium. Who will emerge victorious?

Ninety minutes of regular time has ended and Japan and Paraguay are still 0-0 in this game. Feeling now the tension among both teams as each of them wants to score.

Both Japan and Paraguay had too many opportunities to make a goal but they are missing the opportunity by missing too many shots already.

The Japanese team are however showing a very active game and running on the field. They are prepared and their stamina are ready to fight against Paraguay.

Although Paraguay at times is dominating the possessions of the ball, Japan would not give them a chance to score. Great match unfolding at the moment and this can be a game for anyone.

There are lots of fans backing up Japan and perhaps Asian fans also went to the stadium in order to support the last Asian team on the World Cup.

We will see who will score on the second half and whoever does it might be the team who will eventually win the game. Most of the players of Japan are capable of scoring while Paraguay is relying on Paulo da Silva and Roque Santa Cruz.
