Paul Allen Sues Apple, Google & Nine Other Giants – Paul Allen, Microsoft’s co-founder is suing Apple, Google and nine other companies for alleged violation of patents developed at a lab in Silicon Valley that he finance more than a decade ago.

Paul Allen filed the charges through his firm Interval Licensing at a federal court in Seattle and named Apple, Google, AOL, eBay, Facebook, Netflix, Office Depot, OfficeMax, Staples, Yahoo and Google’s YouTube subsidiary.

The suit doesn’t named any Seattle-based company like Microsoft or Amazon.com. Te suit does not indicate any damages however it claims that these companies are in violation of four patents that are similar to technology used by many companies today.

The said patents are developed through Interval Research Corp. is a defunct Palo Alto, Calif.-based lab and incubator that Allen invested $100 million in during the internet bubble.
