For the past few weeks, there were rumors circulating around regarding the engagement of Prince William with longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton. Just recently, reliable news sources such as CNN and BBC confirmed that the couple are now officially engaged and is set to get married next year.

“Prince William has given his fiancee Kate Middleton his mother’s engagement ring”. It also added in their statement that “the wedding will take place in London in the spring or summer of 2011, in William’s home near Buckingham Palace and further details would be announced “in due course.” – announced by Clarence House, the official residence of The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, and the Princes William and Harry via BBC News.

The good news is the families of both parties are excited with this new stage in the couple’s life. Prince William and Kate Middleton met sometime in 2002 at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. After seven years of being together, they are now set to enter a new phase in their respective lives. It is already anticipated that the union between the two will be a big one.
