After long years of keeping his true sexuality, Ricky Martin, the Puerto Rican Pop Star has admitted that he is gay and he is proud of it. He stated in his website that “he was proud” to say that he is a “fortunate homosexual man”.

“Not sharing with the world my entire truth” about his sexuality, he continued, had become “a self-fulfilling prophecy of sabotage”. He said that he has been keeping his sexuality before because this truth might affect his career especially during those times that it is on its peak. His greatest hit song is “Livin La Vida Loca”. This song has been on top to more than 20 countries around the world in 1999.

Martin is a father of two from a surrogate mother and he said that fatherhood contributed much of his decision as well as writing his memoirs. He has been an advocate of children’s charities. This gender issue came out way back 2000 but he has kept his lips tighten and didn’t give any comment to it.
