Toy Story 3 Defeats Shrek -You here that right, Toy Story 3 surpassed Shrek 2 to become the top grossing animated film of all time. Woody, Buzz Light Year, Mr. and Mrs. Potato and his bunch of toys raked in more money than all the other animated films ever.

Paramount/DreamWorks’ “Shrek 2” was the previous title holder wit a total of $919.8 million global box office sales. Just recently, isney/Pixar’s “Toy Story 3” reached $920 million at the global box office surpassing the previous record set by Shrek 2.

Toy Story 3 also reached the $400 million mark in domestic US box office and became the second Disney film to hit that level, after 2006’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.” Pirates of the Caribbean earned $423 million domestically.

Blu-ray and DVD release of Toy Story 3 will be available starting November 2.
