Toyota has been flocked with various problems lately that caused them to recall some of its car models. Last year, Toyota has made millions of recall in its various car models due to defective accelerator pedals. This year, Toyota has made another sets of recalls due to various problems. Last April alone, Toyota made a recall on about 87,000 Sienna minivans that were being sold in US and Canada due to a corrosion that could result to a spare tire dropping on the road. One month after that, Toyota once again made another recall in four of its Lexus car models due to a faulty steering affecting about 11,500 cars.

Last month, the third set of recall was made after investigations made by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) revealed a fuel spillage problem under a crash test. NHTSA has found that the fuel tanks leak when struck from behind at a speed of 50 miles per hour. This particular Lexus recall affected 17,000 hybrid Lexus sedans in the US.

Today, the fourth set of recall this year was made due to engine problems specifically in the valve spring of 4.6 liter V8 engines and 3.5 liter V6 engines affecting some 270,000 Lexus and Crown car models. The affected Toyota and Lexus car models in this most recent recall were Lexus LS460, Lexus LS600h, Lexus LS600hL, Lexus GS350, Lexus GS450h, Lexus GS460, Lexus IS350 and the Toyota Crown.

Ever since this Toyota recall saga started, the company has lost millions. Aside from the $16.4 million fine imposed by the US Government, Toyota’s stocks fell and its credit ratings were downgraded. Until when will this recall continue?
